WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT CAPPADOCIA?

It is so picturesque and full of magic that words are not enough to describe its beauty and looks like another planet!

Day 1

Overnight bus to Cappadocia with a non-smoking, fully air-conditioned bus at 21:00 pm.

Duration approximately 11 hours.

Day 2

Cappadocia Red Tour 1

Devrent Valley and Pasabag: Start the day visiting Devrent Valley, also known as Imagination Valley, one of the most surreal-looking landscapes in Cappadocia. Our next stop will be Pasabag, also known as Monks Valley, where Christian hermits chose to build hermit cells and churches in these three-headed pinnacles symbolizing the Holy Trinity. It is possible to see all stages of the fairy chimneys at this spot.

Avanos: Visit Avanos, the pottery center of Cappadocia. The village is set on the banks of the Kizilirmak Red River. The river gets its name from the red clay deposits. Here you can watch the potters at work using traditional kick wheels, a technique that has remained unchanged for generations.

Lunch is served in a local restaurant.

Open Air Museum: We continue to the Open Air Museum, where important Byzantine cave churches are found in these once remote valleys where monks and nuns pursued monastic life in the 3rd century. Here we will see preserved Byzantine cave wall paintings and frescoes from the Iconoclastic period through to the end of the Selcuk rule. Icons with scenes from the Old and New Testament can be seen above portraits of saints and church fathers depicting the structure of the Byzantine period.

Panoramic View Point Esentepe with a spectacular view over Goreme Valley and Goreme Village.

We will end our day with a view of Uchisar Castle, which is a tall rock at the highest point of the Goreme region.

Overnight stay in Cappadocia.

Day 3

Cappadocia Green Tour – Optional Hot Air Balloon Ride

Red and Rose Valley

After breakfast we start the day with a leisurely 4 km walk along the Red and Rose Valley. The valleys have some of the most breathtaking and mysterious views in the region. They are famous for their volcanic rock formations and are located in the heart of Cappadocia, away from the mainstream tourist sites. The relaxing walk will end in Cavusin Village where we will see a rock castle and troglodyte dwellings. People lived here until the 20th century.

Lunch is served in a local restaurant.

Underground City

After lunch, we will descend towards the center of the earth with a trip to the Underground City, one of the largest and deepest underground settlements in Cappadocia. The city is approximately 40 meters deep and contains all the rooms commonly found in underground cities: stables, cellars, storage rooms, refectories, churches, and wineries.

On the return we will visit Pigeon Valley where we will have spectacular views of dovecotes, old abandoned cave homes, and old Greek houses.

Our last stop is Ortahisar to see its huge castle and the biggest mass of fairy chimneys in Cappadocia.
