Istanbul to Kusadasi by flight
Early pick-up from your hotel in Istanbul and transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Izmir. Highlights include temple remains, theater, bouleuterion, Roman baths, ancient streets, and necropolis. Day 4
Sacred Mountain Sanctuary of Labraunda
After breakfast, we will drive into the pine-covered mountains to Labraunda. Labraunda was one of the most sacred religious sanctuaries in ancient Caria, dedicated to Zeus Labraundos. Pilgrims once climbed these mountains to participate in religious festivals and ceremonies. We will visit the Temple of Zeus, monumental stairways, ceremonial terraces, ancient banquet halls, sacred spring, and spectacular mountain scenery. The peaceful surroundings and cool mountain air make Labraunda one of Turkey’s most atmospheric archaeological sites.
