Perge Aspendos Side Tour

Enjoy a full-day excursion from Antalya to some of the most important archaeological sites of Anatolia. During this 8-hour tour, we will visit the ancient cities of Perge, Aspendos, and Side, and also stop at the beautiful Kurşunlu Waterfall, located on a branch of the scenic Aksu River.

Our first stop is Perge, an ancient Greek city located about 15 km east of Antalya. During the Hellenistic period, Perge was the capital of Pamphylia and one of its most important cities, along with Aspendos, Side, and Sillion. The city was famous for its impressive architecture and for its temple dedicated to Artemis, the goddess of nature. Perge was also the birthplace of the famous Greek mathematician Apollonius of Parga. As we explore the ruins, we will see remains from Greek, Persian, and Roman periods, reflecting the city’s long and fascinating history.

Next, we continue to Aspendos, located about 40 km from Antalya. In ancient times, Aspendos was an important city on a major trade route. The highlight here is the magnificent Roman Theatre, built in the 2nd century AD during the reign of Emperor Marcus Aurelius. It is one of the best-preserved ancient theatres in the world and is still used today for concerts and performances.

The tour then continues to Side, an ancient city built around a natural harbor. Side was once an important center for trade in the region, especially for olive oil and other goods. Over the centuries, the city was ruled by many civilizations, including the Greeks, Persians, and Romans. Today, visitors can admire its impressive ruins, including the Temple of Apollo, the ancient theatre, and the remains of the old city walls.

After visiting Side, we will return to Antalya, where the tour ends with a hotel drop-off.
