Taraklı is one of the best-preserved Ottoman towns in the Marmara Region, located between Istanbul and Ankara. Known as a Cittaslow (Slow City) since 2011, it offers visitors a peaceful escape with authentic architecture, nature, and traditional lifestyle. Taraklı’s history dates back to 2000–1000 BCE, with early settlements from the Hittites. Later, the region became part of Bithynia and Byzantine territories. Conquered by the Ottoman Empire around the late 13th century and mentioned by Evliya Celebi, a 17th-century Ottoman traveler, writer, and explorer known for his ten-volume travel book called the Seyahatname. He described it as a prosperous village famous for wooden spoons, boxwood combs (origin of the name “Tarakli”). Today, Taraklı is a protected urban heritage site with more than 100 registered historical buildings. 


Day 1

  • Pick up from your hotel in Istanbul and transfer to the airport for your domestic flight

Day 2

Day 3

Thermal spa experience and hiking (both optional activities) can be selected after your breakfast.
