This inspiring journey takes you through the heart of western Turkey, where the Apostle John addressed the early Christian communities nearly 2,000 years ago.
Starting with a flight from Istanbul to the Aegean region, you will visit the biblical cities of Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamon, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.
These sites were once thriving centers of faith where early Christians lived, struggled, and spread the message of Christ. Today they remain powerful historical and spiritual landmarks, surrounded by impressive archaeological ruins and breathtaking landscapes.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1 – Istanbul - Izmir - Ephesus
Hotel pick up early in the morning and transfer to the airport for your flight from Istanbul to Izmir.
Drive to the magnificent ancient city of Ephesus, one of the best-preserved Roman cities in the world. Walk along the Marble Road, see the Great Theatre where the Apostle Paul preached, the Library of Celsus, and early Christian sites. Visit the House of the Virgin Mary (optional).
Overnight stay in Kusadasi or Izmir.
Day 2 – Pergamon & Thyatira
Drive to the ancient city of Pergamon, where the church was warned about false teachings. Visit the Acropolis, the steep theatre, and the remains of the altar area often associated with the “Throne of Satan” in Revelation.
Continue to Thyatira, known as the home of Lydia, the purple cloth merchant mentioned in the Bible.
Overnight in the Izmir region.
Day 3 – Sardis & Philadelphia
Travel to Sardis, once the capital of the Lydian Kingdom and known for its impressive gymnasium and synagogue.
Continue to Philadelphia, the church praised for its faithfulness in the Book of Revelation.
Overnight in Pamukkale / Denizli area.
Day 4 – Laodicea & Return to Istanbul
Visit Laodicea, known as the “lukewarm church.” Explore the excavated streets, churches, and impressive ruins.
