You will be guided to Eminono, one of Istanbul’s most vibrant and culturally rich districts, where your immersive Turkish coffee journey begins. You will discover the deep-rooted history of Ottoman coffee traditions, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This experience offers more than just a drink—it is a ceremonial introduction to one of Turkey’s most meaningful cultural rituals. During the session, you will learn about: the traditional "cezve" (Turkish coffee pot), sand brewing and authentic preparation methods, traditional serving etiquette and cultural customs surrounding Turkish coffee.
The atmosphere is slow, ceremonial, and aromatic, designed to reflect the true essence of Turkish coffee culture. You will witness a live coffee preparation ritual, including the roasting and grinding of beans, and the brewing of coffee in a cezve over hot sand or open flame. You will also learn about the importance of "foam quality (kopuk)", a key indicator of a well-prepared Turkish coffee. The experience concludes with a freshly brewed cup of Turkish coffee, traditionally served in a small cup alongside Turkish delight. Turkish Coffee Fortune Reading (Tasseography). After finishing your coffee, your cup transforms into a symbolic storytelling tool.
